“Came with a group of friends from Feb 9-16 and had a great time! I disagree with some of the negative comments here. Food was good and there were many choices. My favourite part was the fresh fruit/vegetable juices in the mornings! Rooms were incredibly clean. All staff were attentive and kind. Location was great, we were able to walk to the Marina along the beach within 20 mins. There are evening stage shows every day and after that, a band plays classic rock in the square until after 10pm.
Don't get thrown off by the 4x a week pool parties. Two of them are day ones from about 2-7pm and two are night ones from about 7-11pm. They'd only bother you if you sleep before 11pm. We lived in Villa 9, which was right behind the party but once we shut the door, it was quiet.”

Just got back from staying here and very much enjoyed my time. The resort is very nice and clean. We had a beautiful view of the ocean and arch/marina area from our room. I made sure to book a sea view suite in building 7. This seems like it would be the quietest and nicest part to stay. Right by pools with swim up bars and closest to the beach. Also Torote, their steakhouse restaurant is right downstairs and they also do buffets for breakfast and lunch in case you don't want to walk all the way over to the main buffet. Food was great and all the staff were friendly. Lots of fun activities. The resort sent me an email with a couple gifts like a free massage and lounge pass for the airport, but it was very confusing trying to redeem them. Things weren't loading and I was told I needed a voucher with a bar code which no one was able to tell me about. That is the only thing that didn't go perfectly during our stay. I would totally stay at this resort or one of their others again so hopefully they'll send more little perks like that if I stay again and I'll have a better time figuring out how to use them!

We really enjoyed this resort mostly because of the pools and their location to the beach. There are a lot of pool bars which I appreciate because as people know pool bars tend to have people stay all day and never leave. Eww. Having the choice of three or four pool bars was nice. The only complaint about the pools was there were only a few that were heated and it was quite chilly During the time of year that we went. It would’ve been nice to have an outside hot tub to end the day. This is a huge resort so expect to do a lot of walking which we enjoy on holidays because we eat and drink for a week so the exercise is welcomed. Our room was very nice with a king size bed, and always clean. I am a bath person, so I didn’t miss not having a bath to relaxing because there was only a shower. We had a bottom floor room in building number seven. We enjoyed the buildings location, it is close to the pools and the beach. I wouldn’t recommend a bottom floor, because I felt like there were a lot of bugs coming in. I did get quite a few bug bites and did have to spend some time killing mosquitoes every night before bed. I have not had this experience before in Mexico so that was a bit annoying. Next time I would ask for building number seven and a room on the fourth floor. This building also has elevators. The food is totally fine and there are a lot of choices throughout the day and evening. We particularly enjoyed the sushi restaurant, the food was fresh and very tasty. They have a different set up for the restaurants at night, you cannot make reservations during the week. You have to show up about a half hour before the restaurant opens, and either stand in line or put your name down for a later time. We did not do this and tended to just show up and very seldom had much of a wait. They will also give you a buzzer to take with you to go have a drink and come back when your reservation is ready. There were a lot of comments about this resort, being a party place and that there are party locations throughout the resort, but there are also some great quiet locations if that’s not your thing. They do have foam parties throughout the week, but they start fairly early and do not go past 10 PM at night. We never felt disturbed by any partying and joined in on one of the foam parties one night and had a blast. The staff at this resort are very friendly and helpful. The only complaint I would have is that there are not enough Restrooms throughout the resort. Down at the pools by the beach there is one set of bathrooms that are convenient to the pools. Up in the middle of the resort the restrooms are much harder to locate and farther from the pools. At one point it felt like people might be just peeing in the pool because it was more convenient. The other suggestion would be to have more live music throughout the resort. We did not see any mariachi bands, or any local music. The restaurants at night did not have music playing, which would’ve definitely helped with the ambience. The resort was very clean and well-maintained. All in all it was a great vacation and a great resort.

This resort was amazing!
Such a beautiful place, the infinity pools along the ocean were fantastic! Day or night they were so beautiful and always kept at a great temperature.
Staff was always attentive and helpful! Oscar at the breakfast buffet was great, all the bartenders in the pool provided very quick service.
Rooms were clean and air conditioning was perfect.
Foam parties were so much fun and not something you get every day! Highly recommend going to them, and the noise at building 7 was minimal.
Food was great, always found something delicious to eat.
Highly recommend this place.

We stayed in building 7 right after the hotel reopened after Reno's. It was awesome! Our room was lovely, and staff cleaned constantly. The pools are fantastic, the resort is very nice, location is great, and the one pool party we went to (the white party) was a lot of fun. The only downside is that the food is hit and miss: breakfasts were great, but the specialty restaurants were so-so. We didn't experience any of the negative situations others mentioned. Really, for the price, it was pretty awesome!

I am currently on vacation here with my family and I love this resort. The entire place has recently gone through a 30 million dollar renovation and I am one of the first to expirence it. The rooms are very modern and some of the best I've ever seen. The service has been amazing. Very friendly staff; helpful too. The location is beautiful and has had great weather the whole time. My only complaint is that swimming in the ocean is prohibited. Though that isn't something they can necessarily control due to the problem being the current/undertow.

Made a reservation in hopes of enjoying my birthday vacation here for 7days in Nov. But reading these reviews are a bit discouraging. Service and food are so important. And everyone works hard for their buck and a vacation is where you’d like to enjoy that hard work. Now I am not sure and looking at other resorts instead.... 3 starts for median. As I have not stayed here. A fair share to start :)
More recents would be nice. Thank you.

Santa Fe is a good resort with several pools and hot tubs. Drinks are flowing and the view of the rock and Lover’s Beach is nice. It’s a short walk from the boat pier and shopping mall up the street. The tide is vicious depending on the day, and a great sight to see (you can’t swim in the water due to the dangerous undertows). The resort rooms are a good size, the grounds are big, and there’s always something to do. We were able to access the Riu Palace next door as well during our stay (the Santa Fe is younger and livelier than the Palace so that’s good too). We met a lot of good people and had awesome conversations. Food was delicious too (some dishes were a bit redundant but that’s life). I’d stay here again. #riu #hotel

Crooked hotel, screw you anyway they can with transportation to and from the hotel. Email says they will take us to the airport at a certain time but you better read the fine print below that tells you, you must set up your own transportation 72 hours in advance and when we went to complain to the head of transportation, all he could say was sorry can't help you. Had to ask 3 times to have our room cleaned. By the time they cleaned our room it was day 5 out of 6 days of our stay.Food was worse then the chuck wagon in the United States. Drinks are free but very weak.

The rooms were okay, but a bit out dated. The pools were nice and not overly crowded. Bar lines were fairly long as people were ordering a ton of drinks at a time since all of the swim up bars were closed. The resort was very clean. The service was terrible and the food was absolutely dreadful. I expected much more from an all-inclusive resort. I have been to a decent number of resorts in Mexico and have never had such terrible food. We will not be going back to Riu resort for this reason.

We arrived via shuttle rented outside of the resort because of you don’t stay 3 days minimum you have to pay for every means of transportation you need. I’m talking $70 USD rides. Insane. An hour wait at check in in extreme heat with no fans or AC. Arrived to villa 7, where everything seemed fine. Beautiful view of the pool and ocean. After a few cocktails by the pool, we go back to our room and the electricity is off, floors are WET with humidity causing one of our members to fall. We reset the electricity in hopes in wouldnt happen again. We wake up at 5 AM to extreme heat and AGAIN wet floors. Here we go again with the electricity cutting off. As we try and reset, we notice the AC isn’t even working. Call to maintenance and he claims it fixed and leaves. Not fixed. We decide to make lemonade out of lemons and just go down for breakfast and a pool day. As we start getting dressed we notice TERMITES ALL OVER OUR CLOTHES AND BAGS. We immediately call and request a room transfer. 30 minutes later after explaining that them just coming by with raid spray and a sheet change will not cut it, we get a transfer to villa 8. This room is THE ONLY reason I’m giving 2 stars. This room was impeccable, gorgeous with amazing air conditioning. We soon learn villa 8 is one of the renovated buildings. The food was awful. The service at the pool bars were great but any other restaurant or bar, if you’re not Hispanic, don’t bet on getting any service. We chose RIU because of their great reputation, however we will never be here again. $173 for one night is a rip off.

The rooms were very outdated, the only thing pleasant about our room was the view from the hotel. But the next morning we had bugs!!! We called the front desk and they said they would do a deep clean, we didn’t want a deep clean we wanted a new room! We finally got a new room and it very nice! This is where we should have been the first night. Everything is so far! It takes a mile to get to literally everything around the resort, and no working AC. The service was awful. I recommend for next time adult only. I will not be staying here again and will not recommend this to any of my family and friends!

THE BEST HOTEL IN LOS CABOS FOR ALL AGES WHERE EVERYONE WILL HAVE FUN GUARANTEED I have gone 5 times to Los Cabos and 3 times I stayed in Riu Santa Fe ...why? Because despite the fact that it is a 100% family hotel, there are activities for all ages. This past January, I took my mom to celebrate her first 80 years, hahaha. There are slides and pools for the little ones and not so young, For the bigger ones on each side of the main pool facing the sea there are 2 swimming pool bars where you will meet people and make new friends As always one PACHA Discotheque open after 11:00 p.m. to practice your best moves. I can tell you without fear of being mistaken that Riu Santa Fe has everything you need to spend an excellent vacation regardless of the age of the person you are with. It is a fairly large hotel in the middle of 2 other hotels Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas and Riu Palace Baja California, that is why the Riu Parties are assured that there will be enough people to have a great time. There are 4 different theme parties: Jungle Party, Pink Party, White Party & Neon Party so try to wear something adoc to each one. Thongs and mini bikinis are allow but topless is not allowed. There are many security guards who will take care of you. Do not forget to take your towel because it may be cold at night. If you like my review click on the link to follow me and I will be honor to answer any question about this or other hotels. HAVE A GREAT VACATION !! LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL AND THERE IS ONLY ONE, SO ENJOY IT TO THE MAXIMUM !! REGARDS!!

I loved this place, all inclusive. Was a good experience as my first time in Cabo San Lucas. They could improve the "Barra libre", the drinks sometimes were limited by the ice, not col enough. The hours for the pool could be extended, because at 8pm they take you out. But the view, the rooms, the bars and LA Monumental for shows and performances was amazing.

The hospitality of their staff,Nau & Cota at reception, Fransisco second reception area (I think), morning servers Avelina & Jose Luna, was extremely and I mean extremely pleasant. The food, pool, activities, drinks, & your room won't disappoint at all🤩 (unless your a grump 1000% of the time😬) Looking forward for another stay😊! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable 😉

Just returned March 14, 2020. This resort is the most disorganized place I have ever stayed at. Most likely due to the hundreds upon hundreds of students arriving daily to attend their home away from home frat parties. This resort could be 4*+, however, when you let an unlimited amount of kids in it makes it very college dorm like. If you don't want to witness drunken kids being wheeled out of themed pool parties in wheelchairs passed out, vomit in the hallways and public bathrooms, screaming and yelling throughout the day and night, do not go to this hotel during the month of March. In fact do not go to the Riu Palace either because they also allow students in there as well. The food was good, decent variety and lots to choose from. They do wash their plastic cups to be reused so I highly suggest that you bring you own beverage cup to wash out yourself for reuse especially in this current global health crisis. The room next door to me got broken into and was trashed including the room safe. Camera equipment and drone equipment was taken along with cash. My girlfriend had her Cole Haan leather sneakers stolen from a different room. So beware of that if you choose this hotel. I personally will never be back to this Riu. I would like to experience Cabo going to a more secure hotel and not in March!!

Great place to Honeymoon.
Got moved w/out even asking to a fantastic room that was pool-level facing the beach. Much partying/loud-music going on in the area North of us, which even they designate as the "party-zone", but noise was very minimal in our South facing room in the separate building. The 3+ built-in 'theme' restaurants offering Italian, Mexican and Asian-fusion were great and ranged from strictly buffet style to sit-down w/buffet options were great for ending a day in sunny Cabo. Breakfast can be had at any of their standard kitchens/cafes and the one that overlooked the beach-side pool was great for planning the rest of your sunny Mexican day. Evenings had food carts in the main plaza serving up delicious street tacos. Every staff member was pleasant and kept the room fridge stocked often, if needed. A few cockroaches found outside but lizards more common, (what can you do? It's a Desert!) and yet neither were ever found in our room.
We've talked about returning ever since! (Visited late August through early September, 2019)

The staff of this place are so attentive and friendly we had an awesome experience staying with Riu. The entertainment team is also phenomenal and seems like they work endless hours. They were always by the pool and starting off fun games with the guests in the morning and then in the main plaza doing different activities at night. It was truly awesome and interactive on all fronts it felt like you were on a cruise. Definitely worth the price and loved all features of the all inclusive package!
