“Hotel could be excellent, staff is very helpful, however I had an awful night during my last stay.Temperature in the room was freezing.I tried to increase the temperature of the thermostat but there was no heating, just air cooling. So I simply switched the air conditioning off and tried to sleep, which I hardly could.In the morning after a 4 hour night... I was sick.Catching a cold in a tropical country is just unbelievable.”

Desafortunadamente el desayuno fue muy baja la calidad. El desayuno frío( desayuno panameño que tienen las carimañolas llenas de aceite que tenía color oscuro y tamaño del pulgar ) el pan frío Pedimos almuerzo y vino frío . Las cervezas calientes en el area de la pool Pedí también una piña colada y sabía a hieloEl lugar en si muy lindo pero la calidad de comida muy pobre . El staff no estaba ready para atender se demoran mucho hasta para servir agua . Si quieres subir la comida para tus hijos o familiar te cobran $3 dólares - ( no entendí ese cobro ) -pool close at 6 pm 🥲Ojo la gente muy nice pero. El resto hay que mejorar la calidad enseguida Un extranjero no puede tener esa clase de desayuno que dice ser panameño Es un insulto . #nadieentiendenada

I loved it here we felt like family. Glory had amazing great customer and directed us to some site seeing. She was very helpful prompt her to manager!!!We visited august 3-8 for my birthday vacation. the hotel send me free fruit to my room for my birthday THANK YOU. El hotel está bien, su restaurante muy bueno y el desayuno también super completo para ser incluido en el precio pero sus estacionamientos son una pesadilla, sin luz necesaria, da la sensación que tu carro lo van a robar, el baño le falta más limpieza, todo bien pero no lleves carro porque da miedo adonde lo vas a estacionar

El check ines a las 4 de la tarde y el check in es 11 la habitación aceptable y la atención también es aceptable las almohadas son muy pequeñas le doy un 3 en puntuación

Beautiful hotel, excellent staff, location is amazing you can walk to cinta costera, good restaurants, is basically perfect for travelers to have acces to everything, breakfast is really good, highly recommended,is safe to walk around the hotel, don’t rent a car if you planning to stay in the city because they rent car agency will force you to get insurance and then you’ll end paying to much, use Uber, is easy to use, driver are friendly, very helpful people, professional, respectful and safe and you’ll enjoy your trip, shipper then taxi, drive in panama is stressful because driver are very aggressive not friendly, do not use taxi in panama, because they charge you a lot specially if you’re a tourist, they take advantage of you and is not safe.

Service is great but the electrical outlets are flimsy and it's difficult to connect anything. Also when one showers, the drain waits around 8 minutes to start draining, so you will have to shower with feet under water. Finally, your poop will not flush the first time. It's a matter of fact, the water pressure for the toilet is weak. I speak with experience. I've stayed here 3 times in the past 5 years with an average stay of 5 days each and it's always the same issue.

I wanted to put 1* but the view was nice…this hotel just reopened some weeks ago, absolutely not ready, no service, have been waiting an average of 10min to be able to get an elevator, no room service. Make sure to book for the right number of people otherwise they’ll charge you twice the price of the room to add someone.
The staff isn’t trained, no managers around. They should have reopened with a small 4* and get re-evaluated once ready.

O Riu Plaza Panamá́, é um hotel difícil de categorizar, se por um lado parasse um bom hotel, por outro, se parece como um hotel decadente com péssimos serviço.A grandiosidade do lobby demostra a pretensão do estabelecimento, a recepção esforça-se para parecer profissional, mesmo assim de perceber-se a decadência na conservação da estrutura, já o quarto pareceu-me o melhor do hotel, apesar da decoração de gosto duvidoso, era amplo e moderno, o banheiro também amplo era mais defasado que o quarto e já demostrava os sinais do tempo. A limpeza não é um ponto forte do hotel, especialmente no banheiro.O café da manhã, apesar de amplo e diversificado é insatisfatório, as diferentes opções, incluído itens da cozinha norte-americana e panamenha não tem sabor, falta tempero e até sal, mesmo no inicio do serviço o buffet e as ilhas estavam sujas. O salão tem aspecto defasado, as tolhas das mesas estavam sujas e o serviço nas mesas era ruim.A noite no mesmo salão decadente do café da manha é servido um buffet no jantar, este realmente era um terror, muito ruim! Mesmo oferecendo alguma variedade de itens, as carnes disponíveis: gado, porco, galinha e peixe tinham péssimo aspecto, a carne de gado tinha cheiro de estragada, (podre). Assim como no café da manhã, o local do buffet estava sujo, havia comida pelo chão e no entrono do buffet, um desrespeito absoluto aos clientes e uma negligencia as normas de higiene.Espero que esse breve relato ajude a outros viajantesa escolherem o próximo hotel ;)

Bem localizado,mas pecou no cuidado com os quartos,a descarga do banheiro parecia um aviãodecolando,barulho ensurdecedor,o sabonete líquido para o banho estava vazio,chegamos a noite e só conseguimos comer alguma coisa na cafeteria,o restaurante que disseram que poderíamos comer algo estava fechado antes do horário informado

El día 26 de enero estaba en la piscina de deportes y anunciaron que iba a ver competencias de huéspedes voluntarios decidí alejarme del área para evitar no estorbar pero antes le fui a informar a mi señora yni niña que me retiraba y que iba al bar a tomarme un trago cuando termino de informarle me voy a levantar porque estaba inclinado y ellas dentro de la piscina y pegadas a la orilla en ese momento siento que me empujan con gran fuerza hacia el agua sin poder controlar el equilibrio ya que le iba a caer encima a mi pareja y mi niña no se como logre saltar gracias a DIOS por encima de ellas cayendo al agua ygolpeándome con el fondo del pisode la piscina el codo del brazo izquierdo y perdiendo mis lentes que por suerte no los pise. Antes de caer pude ver que el que me empujo tenía sweater rojo y blanco yjoven con lentes de vidrio grueso. el dolor leve del brazo se me fue en ese momento y decidí salir e irme para no formar un discusión por la acción de esta persona ya que pensé que el causante era un huésped y por mala suerte sucedió yno molestar la competencia. esto me ocurrió alrededor de las 11:00 de la mañana cuando regresó a ver parte de la competencia veo al que me empujovigilando a los turistas de que no les pasara nada y tambien veo indicaciones que prohíben hacer saltos en la piscina ya que no es profunda y siempre en las piscinas los salvavidas prohíben no correr no empujar y cualquier tipo de conducta que vaya en contra de cualquier accidente quepueda ocurrir grave. Según uno de mis compañeros de trabajo que vio lo sucedido no había ningún motivo para que esto ocurriera el vio que empujaron sin ningún motivo. el Lunes 27 amaneci con el brazo izquierdo adolorido y más dolor cerca del área del codo. Pienso que el deber de sus empleados si tienen algún entrenamiento de salvavidas es cuidar a todos los huéspedes ya sea extranjeros o panameños por igual. Porque en ningún momento alguien me fue a preguntar en ese momento si estaba bien. cometí un error de no expresar mi disgusto en ese mismo instante hoy llevo 5 dias de tener dolor en el mismo brazo cerca de la punta del codo. Y para que confirmen estuve hospedado en la habitación 3017

This hotel is Absolutely beautiful. The staff is very attentive and welcoming. I tried the buffet option the night I arrived and I can say is one of the best that I have had in my life. Usually I find hotel's food is not enough enough to pay high price but this option is worthy of your money. Rooms are very clean. I was very happy with the experience

I reserved and prepaid a room for myself and my family.We were moving apartments that day and needed a room for one night.Being residents in Panama I just had my driver’s license, which like in many countries serves as an id too.When checking in we were all asked to show our passport.Given we weren’t travelling abroad, there wasn’t a reason for us to have our passports with us.Still as a result, the front desk manager told us we couldn’t stay at the hotel.It was 8:30pm, I had my less than 2 year old daughter with me sleeping in my arms and my 5 year old son.And still, when I told them all I wanted was to get in the room which I had already paid for, and put my kids to bed, the front desk manager refused.I asked to speak to the general manager.The on duty night general manager showed up, and after being briefed by his staff about the situation, comes to me and asks me: “how can I help you ?”I felt insulted: I knew he was aware of the issue and instead would he ask me to tell him my whole story.So I told him I was upset with the service.He asked me to come to his office and sit down. He then said that when he and his family travel abroad they are always asked to present their passports.I reminded him I was a local resident and was not travelling from abroad.Nevertheless, he insisted and told me those were their rules, and alike in any hotel in Panama.I remained calm.When walking out, my wife was complaining at the front desk, and the guy was smiling at her, mockingly.We left.10 minutes later I was checking in a block away at The Bristol.With Riu, it is probably the worst service I got for a hotel of that level and overall in PanamaNot only is the staff poorly trained, but moreover they are poor souls with no empathy, not a drop of civic sense.I will not give names, they will recognize themselves. But they were surprisingly unprofessional and incompetent.If you have the possibility, avoid this hotel at all costs.

We hotel hopped in Panama City first we stayed at the Santa Maria which is outside of the city. The Riu is dated it has an awful smell by the pool and they mask the room smell with a perfume that smells like a cheap perfume. It is dark, and needs major upgrading. However very affordable, well you get what you pay for. A few extra dollars it is worth it to stay at W.

An excellent hotel in a great location in Panama.The buffet breakfast included with the room is really good.There’s a few malls and a ton of restaurants nearby, from fast food to fine dining.The pool area is also really nice.The lobby bar has happy hour on certain drinks from 4pm-7pm.Gym is adequate and has all the basic free weights and machines.Overall, a great hotel and stay!

Excellent and varied food and personnel very helpful.Reservations for New Year's Eve dinner/dance and overnight stay had been made two weeks in advance requesting a HANDICAP friendly room.At check-in, it was again requested.Room was a regular room and the toilet and shower were not handicapped accessible.At checkout it was noted and the person indeed informed us that it was so stated on reservation.We were on the 12th floor and handicap friendly rooms were on the 10th.

Perfecto y gran hotel situado en el centro financiero de Panamá. Habitaciones amplias y muy cómodas, bien ubicado, cercano a centros comerciales y área de negocios.Los servicios de alimentación muy buenos. No ha sido la mejor experiencia estando en un hotel. Será la cultura panameña poco afectiva y cordial. Llegamos con reservación para Riu Plaza y Riu Playa Blanca sin embargo no pudieron darnos el traslado entre hoteles por haber reservado en diferentes páginas web y tampoco hicieron nada para darnos una mejor experiencia y brindarnos una solución. Las habitaciones excelentes y el desayuno buffet bastante bueno.

The Riu is a very nice hotel. The room was nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The shower had both a rain shower from above, and a shower handle from the side. There are double sinks including a mounted make-up mirror. There are lots of outlets including next to each side of the bed. There are also personal lights on each side of the bed. The breakfast has an amazing selection with multiple freshly made fruit juices, eggs cooked a variety of ways, cold cuts, cheeses, psalteries, hot foods, etc. The pool is on the ground floor which means not much sun gets to the area due to all of the other high rise buildings next to the hotel.

It's a high-end facility with spacious common areas.It appears to be showing wear & if I weren't there, gratis by Copa (overnight for delayed arrival & missing my connection) I would not be happy to pay top $ for staying there.Bed/etc was comfy, shower sprayed &/or puddled water on the floor.Restaurant is buffet style with lots of options.

We had drinks on the ground floor of the hotel, right at the back. Service was good for Panamanian standard, so that was positive, drinks were okay. We had a cocktail each and no food. Music wasn't loud which is rare in here so that too was a positive experience. It could be a romantic place it's just people around the restaurant and by the pool with their noisy parties often ruin the atmosphere.

Great outdoor swimming pool area and outdoor bar restaurant area. Pool should remain open a little later until 9 p.m. versus 8 p.m., as the W Hotel's pool is open 24 hours.The hotel offers one of the best and most complete breakfast buffets I have ever had. Nice staff overall except for one unfriendly overnight front desk employee. I love the decor of the rooms, but the lobby, which is very clean and spacious,is kind of retro and reminds me of the interior of a Cheesecake factory restaurant.Pillows could be improved (the ones at the W are better) and hotel is already about 8 years old and might need a facelift soon - and carpeting in rooms could be replaced with newer carpeting or tile or hardwood floors. You often have to wait a long time for the elevators because one of them that travels to the higher floors was out of service during my entire stay, and apparently it has not been working for some time - a needed piece to repair it was being shipped by boat and even the staff expressed frustration in that regard.They need to do better to address broken elevator.Gym is decent but could be a bit bigger or improved.Live music performers sometimes at bar in lobby. Hotel is across from the Soho mall and in walking distance to the Multiplaza mall. Hotel rates are very reasonable.

This place is not 5 stars. The rooms are like Vdara in Las Vegas would be 15 years from now. They are older with the sheets worn out and chipped bathroom tiles. 5 stars I expect everything perfect which this was not. The breakfast buffet was mid grade Gringo. I had to change rooms too because the bed sheet had a stain on it. It was worth the price though at $115 so the price fit the quality but to say 5 stars is misleading.

My partner took my here as a surprise birthday gift in July. She stayed at other Rui properties and enjoyed her stay so didnt think this would be any different. Let me start with the looks we received as if we were the fifth wonder of the world. Guess no one ever seen 2 females hold hands. The looks we got when were hands were nothing compared to how staff and guest stared at my partner.At booking she requested a king bed with courtyard view but instead received 2 double beds When we went to the reception desk we were told we could push the beds together because there were no rooms available with a king bed. I told them that when we booked we requested the king sized bed. He looked in the computer n found a room that was about to be cleaned with a king bed in the back of the hotel facing an abandoned building with a bad oder. We were told to try again the next day. When we tried the next day we were again told there were no king bed rooms for us again. I informed the man at reception that we were told to come back for a room change. He told us to wait then a female came looked in the computer and told us she sees a room told us we could look at it and let her know if we wanted it. The room was once again in the back of the hotel but on a different floor facing the abandoned hotel. We decided to just stay with the room we had.The hall and door to our room had so many black moths around it. One of the days it was so bad that I had to close my eyes n be lead into the room by my partner. Yuck!!!Ok cleanliness.... look at the pictures is all I will say smhThe food was not good and there was nothing Panamanian about it. I can say this because I am raised by a Panamanian family that were born and raised in panama. The buffet was lacking seasoning and at the steak house there was a big dead fly on my plate when they brought it me. the Italian restaurant had a foul scent in itThe pool area looked nice until you notice the bar menu has mildew inside its plastic frameThis was not a experience and I will not be going back or recommending this hotel to any one I know

Es un hotel maravilloso, la vista desde alberca es increíble. Under the embrella, confortable on our chair, we see the sea while drinking cocktails.The shows where professionnels and amazing.We stay two weeks, we rent a van with a guide at the hotel and we had a blast.We went in the ziplane in the forest. A must would be the cruise in Panama Canal.We fed the monkeys, it was unbelievable.

Don't use any taxi or car services from the hotel. They will not provide the services you paid for. They charged us $200 for a trip to monkey Island, and we paid there separately to take us to the monkeys. They said we need 11 hours because going there and coming its 3 hours each way. In reality it's less than 2 hours. Then they were supposed to take us to Gamboa but they took us to somewhere else that charge us $35 per person when later we found out that in Gamboa it's only $20 per adult (we were 2 adult and 3 kids). We were done by 11 including the lift. When we told them we have another 7 hours left, and we want to go somewhere else they didn't agree so we ask for a some refund for those hours. They start screaming on us. And later we found out that the guy who identified himself as a manager wasn't and gave us some fake name, and the supervisor was the girl who sat there playing in the phone and laughed at us.I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE, THEY ARE LIARS THAT ONLY SEE DOLLAR SIGN.We been in Riu hotels before but that's was definitely the last time. If the hotel provide a service they should stay behind there promise.The only good thing is the staff in the hotel (restaurants, cleaning and pool staff)they are nice and really helpful.I wish they had the option for 0 stars.

This is not the first time I stay at this hotel, I've chosen it several times before especially for business trips. Normally I come alone and the service is ok, the concierge staff is not especially welcoming but for me it's OK as long as they do their job. This time the experience has been not a joyful one.My siblings arrived in a flight later than mine and said the people at the FD were rude to them too. When we came to ask for them to help us with the third bed the attitude of the lady was super rude too. I don't know if I keep expecting NY services but I'd say to be an international brand, they should strive for better.Most of the staff is plainly rude, the tub was clean (and cleaning staff was nice) but it's definitely not maintained well. Toilet top was broken too. One thing I'm 100% surprised is the fact they asked us to pay for leaving the bags in the hotel. I travel A LOT for work and have even done the same thing here, and this is the first time in a hotel where I do a check out here at 5am and they expect me to pay for keeping the bags. Now, imagine my surprise to have to do that when in fact I'm also coming back tomorrow for a longer stay at the hotel... It's just 9 bucks which I believe were not a good amount to waste my time even debating but it really says a lot about the service of the place.On top of that and has nothing to do with me but they had some customers waiting trapped in the elevator for about an hour and I guess it's the zen mentality or something but it didn't really seem to be any preoccupation for the overall situation at all... Weird and scary for the girls inside though.

I've was there with my 5yo daughter for one night because I've lost my flight connection. This is a good hotel, but I've stayed in other 5 stars and this one was not at all the same standards. Maybe because my stay was being paid by the airline but I was ignored several times by the staff. I was fighting with 4 luggages when I arrive and when I left but the many hotel employees in the lobby just ignored . At dinner and lunch the staff just ignored us they didn't offer any beverage. The breakfast was good. We were, again, ignored for beverage and the table was dirty but I blame it in the fact it was crowded and they just had 3 people to serve. The tv wasn't working.Overall it was clean, big and the pool and the view was pleasant. I am planning to return to visit Panama but I will not stay in this hotel again.

Worst experience we have ever had with a hotel. We booked through Kayak which apparently outsourced Snap Travel. We booked several days ahead and when we arrived their booking department (in the Dominican Republic) hadn't authorized the reservation. They assured us they would and asked for a credit card for incidentals. My wife checked back three times that night every two hours before we went to sleep because we didn't want to get charged for a regular price night ontop of the money we spent for the original two night booking. Well they kept giving the run-around that it would go through. Well, it didn't. The next day we were charged for the full price of the night. We talked to the manager Mario who was very unhelpful and wouldn't reverse the charge. He acted like it was our problem only. We had to call Snap Travel and be on hold until they understood the problem and tried to rectify it. We still couldn't get an assurance so we left for lunch and told them to notify us if they (Snap Travel) could actually confirm we wouldn't charged for another night. After a few hours they said they had it and we reluctantly returned because we had already paid for the second night in advance. So we would be out of that money had we left. Still, we almost decided too because if such terrible service. Also, the room was a bad and run down looking orange decor that was the worst we have seen (and we thought and said this before the fiasco). Additionally, the rooms have very thin walls. Even after all that trouble they still didn't try to comp our $24 parking. Although we did get an apologetic email from a higher up manager. So that earns them an extra star. I also found the gym to be well below a supposedly 5 star hotel standard. We will never stay at the RIU again. If you have finished reading this, I hope if you decide to stay you'll have a much better experience.

Cómo siempre el hotel Riu todo muy bien . No puntuó con un 5 porque en el restaurante cuando fui a pagar el muchacho que me atendió para la cuenta me dijo si incluía la propina y le dije que sí, mi sorpresa fue que puso de propina un 15% cosa que me supo muy malya que lo usual es el 10% . Hablé con la encargada la cual fue muy amable y me pidió disculpas , disculpas las cuales las acepte y tengo que decir que la actitud de esta persona fue intachable.

COPA Airlines put a whole flight of us up here when our plane was delayed at O'Hare, causing us all to miss our transfers. What a lovely surprise! It's a beautiful hotel in the banking district. My view from the 23rd floor was incredible: cityscape backed by the ocean. The room was very comfortable, clean, and well laid-out so, though not very large, it felt roomy. The shower was wonderful. Great, huge, buffet breakfast with excellent coffee, and outdoor seating available. Very friendly staff everywhere. Thanks, COPA!

I am saddened to leave this hotel. My boyfriend and I had a pleasant stay here. Everyone was so nice and helpful! OMG, you do not get this in the United States. Brian was so amazing to us. He catered to all our breakfast needs while we stayed here for a full week 6/16-6/23/2019. I do not have anything negative to say about this hotel. The hotel is in a safe area. We had a great time in the RIU Plaza. Room was big and clean with ocean view from the 30th floor.Breakfast was overwhelming... almost too much and very American. If you live huge buffets you gonna love it.Small shop inside to buy water and some beverages.

El hotel en general es agradable. Sus habitaciones son amplias ylimpias. Posee varios restaurantes y bares. En alguno de ellos se puede comprar comida para llevar a la habitacion. Se encuentra cerca de sitios turísticos de interés como la ciudad vieja aunque el caos de tránsito de la ciudad y la desordenada forma de manejo local generan inconvenientes para llegar rápido a los sitios de interés. El personal es amable y respetuoso pero algo ineficiente en algunas áreas como por ejemplo en la correcta y oportuna provisión de toallas. El desayuno es abundante y muy variado. En las instalaciones del hotel se pueden alquilar automóviles y cuenta con centro de información turística.

Hotel could be excellent, staff is very helpful, however I had an awful night during my last stay.Temperature in the room was freezing.I tried to increase the temperature of the thermostat but there was no heating, just air cooling. So I simply switched the air conditioning off and tried to sleep, which I hardly could.In the morning after a 4 hour night... I was sick.Catching a cold in a tropical country is just unbelievable.

Tuve que hospedarme en el Riu debido a que perdí mi vuelo de conexión debido a un retraso. La aerolínea lo pagó y sinceramente no esperaba un buen hotel, por suerte me equivoqué. Hizo mi experiencia de (des)conexión muy agradable.

This hotel is very nice, the experience was great. It's not the cheapest one. But the hotel offers different experiences from salsa lessons to a very good spa. The only thing that I didn't like it was the entrance. It's chaotic.

Las habitaciones son muy cómodas, el personal es muy atento y el desayuno buffet es bastante variado.Tuve la oportunidad de participar en sesiones de un congreso mundial y los salones son amplias y bien equipadas.El precio es muy conveniente para un hotel de esta categoría.

Los recepcionistas son groseros y no dejan pasar visitas. La bulla insoportable al entrar. Por cada visita te quieren cobrar 80.00 dólares adicional. Te cobran por valet parking y el cuarto con olor a humedad.

Increíble experiencia las comidas en el restaurantes de muy buen gusto. Las habitaciones son muy cómodas. El baño tiene puertas, sin embargo estas no tienen ningún tipo de seguro para bloquear las, pero si te encuentras solo, esto no es un problema.
