The staff here is absolutely wonderful and so hard-working. Even on a super busy weekend, everyone I came in contact with had a genuine welcoming smile - from the front desk clerks, to the sweet kitchen staff, to the exhausted and underappreciated housekeeping angels to even the workers walking through the parking lot - absolutely everyone was helpful, friendly and made our group feel welcome. They were so gracious (& flexible) with our multi-room student group. Whether personally or with a group, I will definitely visit again.

While the location,room and staff were nice. Parking could be difficult, because , while we could park in handicapped parking, other space was limited, and people who were not guests entered the parking lot, though there was a gate it opened when one pressed the button to enter. Additionally, when other nearby rooms used the tube/shower, we could hear it in our room.

Horrible Experience! After paying for an over priced room to stay in from 9 PM to 6 AM they charge my card an additional 250 because the cleaning lady “ thinks that we smoked in the room“ The managers were rude and not helpful and said they would provide evidence but could not . So because their cleaning lady THINKS SHE SMELT SOMETHING they charged us 250$

Clean rooms, good water pressure. Smells very clean the moment you walk in. Everyone working is happy and grateful for you staying at their hotel. I will be using them for now on when I come down for work. Don't waste your time with home2/garden inn down the road. I left there after one night and cancelled the rest of the week there.

After leaving another hotel for substandard cleanliness and less than friendly staff, this hotel was a nice retreat. The room was very clean and the staff was really welcoming. Everyone seemed to enjoy working here. Happy hour was a great added bonus as well. The hotel is within a short walking distance to great restaurants and bars. We will definitely book a stay here again when we come to town.

It's approximately 60% higher price than other Hampton Inns in the area. Sure, it's downtown. But the lack of service makes it not worth the price. Breakfast was good.

My sister arrived at the hotel the night before I did. She warned me that if I had a room on Gervais Street that the traffic noise would be really loud. I was hoping she was exaggerating but as we got ready to go to bed we noticed the cars and motorcycles sounded like they were racing in the street and it echoed between the buildings. My sister said she asked if she could get a room on the other side of the hotel and they told her that she should turn her air conditioning fan on high and download a White Noise app so that she didn't hear the street noise as much. Only one elevator was working so sometimes the wait was really long. There were at least three wedding parties staying at the hotel so it was pretty crowded in added to the white for the elevator. Also the elevator was really small and be sign recommended that only two people use the elevator is a time for social distancing. Besides the noise, the room was good and the breakfast buffet was good. My sister was disappointed that they did not have any decaf coffee.

Pillows suck. Ironing board pad woefully inadequate to provide any protection from the metal grate pattern of the board. One ruined shirt later, lesson learned. Location is fantastic. Parking could be $5 cheaper per day to match surrounding options, but lot is convenient.

We stayed here in April of 2021. It's in a great location; you can walk to many restaurants, shops, & events. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety. Room was very clean. We will stay again our next visit.

If I could not give a star I would. The room was purchased from a family member who put my boyfriend's information as a guest but her card on file as her birthday gift to myself. She also authorized over the phone and via paperwork online while making the reservation that he was authorized to check in and get the key so he could set up a romantic scenery. Unfortunately I had to learn about the surprise before even walking into the room and being late to an event for my birthday because Manger Amy and worker Sara decided that she still had to be present and would not hand over the key to my boyfriend. I then learned the manager Amy displayed an attitude with not only my family member and boyfriend but also another couple who just ended up leaving and going to another hotel. After staying the first night. As we were heading out to do activities I went to get clarity of the situation from the manager who then gave me attitude and tried to over talk me. Upon returning to change clothes and go to another birthday function house keeping had not come to our room. We had to change our own sheets in which we discovered there was someone else's dried blood on the mattress itself. I was not offered a new room nor a discount of any sort. Nor did the staff send house keeping to fix any of the issues. I will not stay at this hotel again nor do I recommend it especially if you are booking it to be a surprise. Not to mention the paper thin walls which allowed to hear the neighbors above us and next door to us having relations and squeaking beds even with the television on.

I make trips twice yearly to Columbia and this is my preferred hotel. Rooms have always been clean, comfortable, and in good working order, staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast offers an excellent selection of food choices, and the location is convenient to the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center and several great, locally owned restaurants.Parking is $12/night which seems a bit high (the lot is accessed through a gate but it's not a covered parking garage). Hotel as an outdoor pool. Although the hotel's address is Gervais Street, the main entrance is off Lincoln Street (the Gervais Street entrance requires a card-key, which means you already need to be checked in to use that door.)The Hampton Inn in Downtown Columbia is an excellent facility tat has served me very well over the past three years. And I will continue staying here in the years to come.
