“My wife flew into Baton Rouge today for work. She had a reservation at Hyatt that she made three weeks ago. When she arrived at the hotel tonight, she was told the cancelled her reservation. When she showed them her Hyatt app and showed them it was still active she was told someone called and left a message. She had no missed calls and no messages. The told her they understood why this would be frustrating but said her room was not guaranteed? She is not a novice traveler and spends a considerable amount of time on the road and in hotels- this has NEVER happened. Now due to Hurricane Nicholas there are no available rooms in all of Baton Rouge. They made zero effort to help her and sent a woman out in her own with no where to stay in a strange city. I called the hotel after she called me to try to understand and all they could say is that someone called and left message. When I pressed them on when and who they said - we don’t make the call here it comes from above but she just needs to check her messages. She showed them when she was in the hotel that she had no missed calls and no messages. If she had gotten a call she just never would have gotten on the plane! I am blown away by the treatment and that they would allow someone to travel all that way to be left stranded. Very disappointed - looks like it’s back to Hilton for us!! This never would have happened there!!”

“Four stars. Given the COVID-19 environment and fact that the eye of Hurricane Ida was over Baton Rouge, the staff manages the hotel well. They do offer the option for a hot or cold breakfast and they have hot coffee. I’d like to point out that the management should train the staff to know the company policy for service animals and to be more sensitive to travelers with service animals. The kitchen staff rudely made comments to me about how service animals are not permitted anywhere in the kitchen areas —I did check with the front desk. I highly recommend the management also post whatever the company policy is in a place to let guests know. Overall, the staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Yes the hotel could stand to be updated and they need to do better with TV offerings. Still, of those things were deal breakers for me. I had a pleasant stay overall.”
