“Overall, the stay here was okay but certainly not what we expected for the money we paid and the experience we’ve had at Novotels in other countries. There were many things that could have been improved.
I don’t know who thought of the terrible design of the bathrooms in the rooms but it is extremely inconvenient. They split the shower+sink and the toilet into their own “rooms” (which is great) but the toilet doesn’t have an associated sink. It actually doesn’t make any sense to have a toilet by itself without a sink.
Another thing is we tried to schedule a tour to Bulgaria with the hotel. We specifically asked for a tour guide multiple times before booking with the hotel and they ended up giving us only a driver. It was extremely disappointing. The driver was a nice guy but he just left us in places until we were done.
Lastly, the food at the restaurant in the lobby of the restaurant is not good and quite expensive compared to restaurants in the area.
I was happy to hear that this place had a “gym” but it was just a few pieces equipment placed awkwardly to the side of the entrance to the spa.
If you’re used to Novotel hotels, you will likely be disappointed by this one. Wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you’re able to get a significant discount.”
