“This was meant to be our Honeymoon Vacation. We spent a good amount of money expecting the 5 star quality this resort boasts on TripAdvisor. We booked a junior suite with a king bed and made sure our travel agent relayed this trip was our honeymoon in case there was anything special the resort could do for us.
We were not expecting grand upgrades or lavish treatment, we were merely hoping for some towel art and maybe a small bottle of champagne. We arrived to be told they only had a room with 2 double beds, we were upset as we told them we are here for our honeymoon and that was not the room we had paid for. They told us they cannot guarantee the room style and that we get what we get when we arrive, but our booking clearly stated we had a king bed. They then promised they would have a king bed the next day. It was already super late and we were hungry and tired from traveling we accepted the room as is for the night knowing we would get the right room in the morning.
We then went back to the lobby to change our rooms the next day to be told we could not have a king room until Monday. At this point we were upset because they promised we would have the room we paid for that day. After asking to speak to a manager we were met with someone who was apparently the “supervisor” who was no help and told us the same thing. We reminded them over and over that it was unacceptable and after lots of talk they told us they would send some wine and tequila to our room. We agreed and walked away very upset.
Monday rolls around and we are finally able to move rooms, we get into our room at 3pm and are met with no beverages not even water bottles (no clean tap water to drink at this resort), we called and were hoping they would bring some water at the very least. We didn’t get any beverages until very late Tuesday after calling multiple times.
We didn’t receive our tequila and wine they said they would send to our room, so my husband once again went to the lobby on Wednesday to ask to speak to the resort manager who then finally put the ball in motion to get everything rectified. We got the wine and tequila and some chocolate strawberries on our second last day.
While the resort itself is beautiful and boasts beautiful scenery, pools, drinks, food and beaches. It is clouded with horrible service. You cannot call yourself a 5 star resort and leave your patrons spending over 80% of there vacation dealing with problems.
We would not recommend this resort to anyone, and especially couples who are honeymooning as it is the worst resort we have ever been to. Save yourself the hassle of this resort and book somewhere else, we have come back from this trip very unrested and wishing we had booked elsewhere.
Very very disappointed.”

“This hotel is stunningly beautiful. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and have daily housekeeping. The beach is also very nice in a "W" shape. On the Southern part there is a lot of seaweed. On the Northern part is very nice with an area roped off for swimmers/snorkelers. There are two main pools with swim up bars and a lazy river that goes through the resort. The lazy river has an end, so you'll have to get out and walk 5 feet if you want to go around and around all day. The reasons for the 3 star rating is due to check in and food/beverage. Check in was 3pm. I arrived at 2:30, was told I had to wait until 3, then was told it was going to be another 10 minutes, then another 20 minutes, and at 4pm I was finally allowed to check in to the room. That's really not acceptable and we should at the very least have the room ready by 3:00pm. Food and beverage here was mediocre. Since it's an all inclusive resort, I would expect the drinks to be weaker, but after several drinks and feeling nothing, I am assuming the bottles of alcohol were actually bottles of water. I resorted to just taking a shot every hour, as the drinks are extremely sugary and contain no alcohol. There is a buffet for all 3 meals, and it is all mediocre, and worse than other all inclusive resorts in the area. The dinner buffet was the absolute worst and I ended up just not eating the first night I arrived. After that, my concierge was able to secure me some reservations in the specialty restaurants (no extra charge for most of them). These specialty restaurants had very good food. But you had to book them days in advance in order to get a reservation. For people staying less than 4 days, I doubt you will be able to get a reservation at all. The restaurants I went to were the Steakhouse and the Brazilian Steakhouse. Both were excellent. Excellent waiters and excellent food. Also side note - be mindful there are animals on the resort. I was not used to seeing raccoons during the day (in the United States this means possible rabies) but it appears to be common here. There are other cute creatures such as agouti and lizards here. They don't bother anyone and are used to people.”
