Pessoal simpático, pequeno almoço bem servido e quarto limpo. Não poderia pedir melhor mesmo que o hotel original estava em Overbooking

Been there for 2 separate nights this past week, and the experience was great. Quiet and clean rooms, lots of space. The lobby is also very cozy. Unfortunately, due to C19, no service was available there, but I sure would have enjoyed having a drink there in normal times. The greatest point here was the employees, all were very patient, helpful, and listened to my every need for these days (early check-in’s, early breakfast for the first day, ordering room service from their partner external provider, early morning taxi...). Rita was very friendly and showed me around the historic city center with the best spots on a paper map, while Paula took time to help me find the fresh fish I wanted for dinner while we couldn’t translate the online menu. The historic center is about 10 minutes away driving (any Uber or Bolt will do the ride for around 5 euros) and there’s a big shopping mall nearby with both shops and restaurants if needed. On the western side, you could also join the marina and a beach, 2-3 km away, reachable by walking. About 2.50 euros ride. You could also get ride and aim for the bigger beach, to the north, on the other side of the river, "Porto". Little details very appreciated, for instance, a male manager provided me with a breakfast box at 3:30 in the morning and confirmed the taxi booking to reassure me. He kindly asked the taxi to drive all the way to the front. Paula on the 2nd day asked the restaurant to provide another payment terminal as my bank cards didn’t work on the first day and even offered to provide change if I didn’t have any, she remembered the drink I took 2 days earlier. In-room breakfast tray provided for the 2nd night, ordered for 9:45, went down to get it as I thought I’d have to pick it up downstairs, while an employee brought it up exactly at 9:45 and all items delivered as ordered. Fantastic service, very customer-oriented, very professional. If I come back again to Porto for leisure this time, be sure you’ll see me again. I can see that the director reads these comments often, please thank the 4 duty managers I’ve come across (Rita, Paula and the 2 others for which I don’t have the names). They’re all absolute gems and I hope to see them again in the future. Alain H

Bom dia! Fiz ontem uma reclamação. O sr. Sérgio Bastos respondeu à mesma. 《Quando a encomenda lhe foi entregue, a recepcionista de serviço ausentou-se para precisamente lhe preparar o tabuleiro completo para o seu jantar, como habitualmente fazemos para todos os hóspedes. Quado chegou à recepção os senhores já tinham subido para o quarto.》- Deveríamos ter sido avisados. 《Pensou a nossa colaboradora que não necessitariam de nada》- deveria ter ligado a perguntar. Acha a menina que os hóspedes trazem pratos de casa? No entanto, 《quando questionaram a recepção sobre a ausência de talheres, a recepcionista de serviço prontamente se ofereceu para os levar ao quarto.》- NÃO É VERDADE. A recepcionista afirmou que seríamos nós a ir recolher o necessário. Foi por isso que fui buscar o saca-rolhas. NUNCA se disponibilizou a ir levar ao quarto. Quando a menina disse que eu teria de ir buscar, respondi que dessa forma o jantar ficaria frio, aliás já vinha morno. 《Foi recusado assim como o saca-rolhas》- NÃO foi recusado por nós, mas pela colaboradora. 《Mais tarde deslocaram-se à recepção para solicitar a abertura da garrafa.》- já depois de termos comido na embalagem com garfos de plástico. Hotel maravilhoso! Excelentes quartos, muito confortáveis! E com a renovação feita ao hotel, ficará ainda melhor. A juntar a isso, tem uma equipa excelente a todos os níveis no atendimento ao cliente! Definitivamente, é o lugar a ficar quando se visitar Vila Nova de Gaia, bem como a invicta cidade do Porto! Very good hotel.Close to the big shopping center.The food in the hotel is good.Tasty breakfast with a lot of different food.There is a menu on the bar with good choice of not expensive food. Location is a little bit far from Porto and the only way to get to Porto its a motorway.And there is always huge traffic on motorway.

Fantástico hotel.A unos 10 minutos en coche del centro de Oporto, al lado de un centro comercial. Hay aparcamiento gratuito por los alrededores, o de pago del propio hotel. Desayuno buffet muy completo.

Excelente Hotel , limpio, seguro, silencioso y moderno. Atención y trato de recepción rápida y cordial. Localización excelente al lado de enorme centro comercial con todo para compras y comer a dos minutos caminando. Habitaciones cómodas, silenciosas con aire acondicionado, tv, nevera cafetera wifi, etc. Baño muy limpioy el desayuno buffet con amplia selección y muy bueno. Sin duda repetiría hospedarme.

Really good hotel. The personnel was really kind. The rooms really clean. Sadly I haven't sleep well during the 3 nights, maybe because the windows are closed(No handle). The place was really quiet and really confortble to have the Auchan(ans shops) near it and easily accessible. The breakfast was really good. With a lot of choice and it was really calm.

Great service, the best service we received so far in our European trip. We made a mistake to book two nights instead of one. The front desk happily helped to change the booking at no cost and gave us connecting room as requested. The room is clean and quiet. The only drawback is the way to the hotel is very confusing. Other than that everything is perfect.

A fantastic place....I really love the wonderfull and helpfull staff...fantastic rooms and good food and drink....i am still here and do not want to go back home....Thank you all so much at Mercure hotel!!!! Almost time for me to leave, and i feel so sad......so many aspects of this place that i can put the word 'Perfection' to......so sad knowing that i must go.....

Estupendo hotel, habitaciones amplías. Íbamos en grupo organizado y la cena en plan self-service genial, mucho para elegir. El personal muy atento y servicial, tanto en recepción cómo en el restaurante. Recomendable.

Calidad precio bastante buena se agradece el centro comercial que está justo al lado y destacó la preparación y simpatía el 90% de los empleados. Uno de ellos no fue tan simpático pero era por saturación de trabajo o discusión telefónica. Espero se de cuenta que por su culpa han perdido cinco estrellas en calidad y precio. Sin duda si vuelvo a Oporto este será mi hotel.

Friendly staff. Easy parking. Rooms a bit outdated. A slightly funny smell in the hall/rooms and no option to open a window. Bar and lobby fresh and new. Shoppingmall/Supermarket next to it is very convenient

Las habitaciones son muy cómodas, amplias, bien amuebladas, incluyendo mesa-escritorio y con una decoración agradable. Tienen un toque británico al incluir un calentador de agua con bolsitas de té y café instantáneo. El personal es amable y bien dispuesto a solucionar dudas.La pega que tiene es la ubicación, que no es especialmente cómoda para visitar Oporto o las bodegas de Vila Nova de Gaia. El taxi es casi imprescindible. Por contra la ruta hacia el aeropuerto es bastante rápida.

Very nice hotel, with a great location near to Arrábida Shopping center and with very good access to Porto from Arrábida Bridge. To access Porto the best way is by car, but is easy to call a taxi or a uber and the access to Porto is fast and cheap. The breakfast was great, and the staff was very nice and helpful. Next time I return to Porto I will stay here again for sure.

The staff at this hotel are exceptionally helpful and delightful. I will going forward always make use of Mercure hotels. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms spacious. Breakfast awesome and the location of Mercure Gaia Porto is perfect. Going to Mercure Lisbon tomorrow because of this particular hotel in Porto. I could not even be bothered to try anyone else that is how impressed I am.

Terrible, dirty !!! Non smoking room that smells like smoke (after complaining they only gave us a way of opening the window) + Flies in the room, several in the bathroom (which was dirty with hairs all over the bathtub) + linens were with blood, brought a second set - dirty as well (as you can see in the picture). They gave us a new room after the first night (we complained but they didn't have rooms available for night change), staff is nice and try to help though. Those are the problems that shouldn't appear to the customer...Find yourself a better place,the front desk is nice, tries to solve... But it shouldn't happen,there are better ways of expending your hotel money.
